Handmade Modernist Swivel Stool

Here’s a stool with a top grain leather seat, and a curved wooden backrest. The brushed steel brace gives and springs back for great lumbar support. I make these in solid Zoita wood and steel at the perfect custom seat height for your bar or counter. Pairs perfectly with the backless version. The finish is a hand rubbed penetrating oil that’s silky and beautiful, as well as hard wearing and easy to clean.

The curves and circles lend an organic feel to the piece; it's a touch of midcentury modernism that works well with a variety of styles. We use only absolutely top notch materials and hand cut the joinery for a solid chair that will last for many many years.
 
I especially love the way the leather wraps the high density foam cushion and tucks into the wood in such a way that you can still see and feel the eased edge all around the seat. The swivel feature makes it easy to hop on and off without repositioning the stool under the bar. (BTW, that’s a Hafele (Austrian) heavy-duty ball bearing plate responsible for the swiveling). Its a great looking piece and a pleasure to sit in
